Well, my wife went to lunch with a friend of hers today. Afterwards she came to pick me up at the Church ( I was cleaning ), and said she'd had fun, they'd gone to a new antique shop. I said " that's nice sweetheart, I'm glad you had a good time". She then told me that this shop had BOXES of old cameras for a dollar each. I lost control of my senses, the room began to spin, and I broke out in a cold sweat Needless to say, I dragged her back there, about 10 miles, so I could check it out. This is what I found............ and........ Plus a few other odds and ends. The only one that I paid more than a Buck for is the Voigtlaender. The shutter is stuck so I talked him down from 20 to 10. Lots of projects for the wet days ahead Doug

Doug, there's nothing like that round here!
I can't actually see the pictures at the moment - the internet is still playing up. They'll suddenly burst into life though.
Dave.
(As soon as I sent the above message the pictures became visible. Nice.)

Hi again! I wasn't sure exactly what they are, but I also bought a half dozen glass plate holders. A couple of them are marked DRP, and they measure 6x9, so could they be German? Needless to say, I'll be going back to that shop when I have a little more cash on hand Doug

Hi Doug ! A very nice find ! The Voigtlaender Dynamatic is looking good, I hope you get it working again. The white SX-70 reaches prices up to 150.- USD here regularly. I once bought a white one with defective leather for 2.- and renewed it with "snake-skin". DRP means "Deutsches Reichs Patent" ( German Empire Patent ). This description had been used in Germany from the 1880`s till the WWII. MIK

For a long time, I had thought that the white plastic SX-70's were an economical sibling to the brushed stainless ones. Then I found out the "brushed" finish was painted plastic and not real metal.

Ron that's like the bloke who finally found out that Evadne Hinge and Hilda Bracket were not actually women, having been 'in love' with them for many years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinge_and_Bracket

Over here in the SW of France, we have in all the villages what you will call 'Garage Sale' during Spring and summer and we do come across odd cameras that I have very little knowledge of, quite interesting.
