Remember this poor old Argus? After quite a bit of work, and a lot of lighter fluid, it's working again. Picked up the first roll from the processor today. Fujifilm 200 Exposure measured with my Weston Universal Master hand meter. These shots are straight from the camera with no post of any kind. I was very pleasantly surprised. Roy

It's always surprising how good those cameras were. They looked pretty crude, but the performance was better than anyone had a right to expect, given the price.

I have a C-44 in quite good condition. It has a Cintagon 35mm f4.5 lens that is immaculate BUT It focuses freely from infinity to about 10 feet and then stops dead as if there is an intentionally built in stop. I am reluctant to dismantle it. Any suggestions?

Roy.
It's always good to hear those words "It's alive, it's alive" rather than the camera being just a show model. What I do always think is strange, though, is that we almost always credit the photos taken to the camera body rather than the lens. I believe the f2.8 lens is a triplet, presumably with just front element focussing. It is really amazing what good results come out from such a simple design of lens.
