Thanks for all then information. I finally went for Cam-spares and the foam arrived today. Very (and surprisingly) easy to fit.

Lloydy tells me that you can use 'funky foam', an art product that does the same, only not self adhesive. About a pound for an A4 piece.

I've just acquired a nice Nikkormat FT2 - nice except that the light-seals are almost non-existent.
Does anyone have any up-to-date sources of kits/materials/instructions? I've seen some kits on ebay from the US, but postage to the UK is quite high. I especially need to look at the hinge-seal, which on my example looks like it's been removed. What thickness of what type of foam is needed there?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks.

Philbirch's post above might be your best bet - he's in the UK. Use double sided tape to attach the foam. The size and type of foam is probably not important, as long as the door shuts ok.

Not much help but in the past I've bought light seal materials from John Goodman in the US charging very little postage. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to sell it now but he has some good instructions on how to fit them here kyphotoAs somebody has suggested, a hobby shop or art supplies dealer should stock some kind of appropriate self adhesive foam.

The velvets from old 35mm film cassettes make super light seal material. Peel off carefully and glue on with rubbery contact adhesive. This velvet is good also for replacing the velvets inside old metal lens caps
