I am always in two minds. One is "Incredible but so like a photo why not take a photo?" The other is "Someone has talent and has seen a gap in the market which his talent can exploit."

Wow ... incredible Maybe, because you can also paint something, which does not exist in reality ... and therefore, there can not become a photo taken of it ? At least, he has amazing skills ... this guy

For thousands of years, from drawings on cave walls to today's digital cameras, artists have striven to copy life in their art.
This man has an extraordinary talent and should be lauded and applauded for his remarkable achievements.

Georges Méliès, however, showed over a hundred years ago how the photograph (in his case moving pictures) did not have to capture reality. With Photoshop and suchlike no photograph can be taken as definitely being an "honest" reproduction of what was there. One can, in effect, paint by pixels and transform scenes from what they were to what one wants them to be.
I have a painting done by my cousin of which someone said "where was the photograph taken". It certainly wasn't "hyperrealism" in the sense that these Cadden pictures are, but the reflections in the brass door furniture are "real".

Dave,
Are reflections of an object real or virtual?

I just got to see them. WOW!
They are the realist realism pictures I have ever seen.
I could find nothing that would say pencil drawing with the possible exception of picture #14.
He is truly remarkable.
