I have been a lurker for a while and really enjoy this web site. I thought it was time to introduce myself. I am Fred from Alabama, known herein as Kodaker. I have always liked the work Kodaker because it was used to describe a photographer back at the turn of the century (1900) when Kodak was THE camera producer in the US. I have been a wedding photographer part time back in my younger days, I am 71 now, but mostly nowadays just take pictures for my pleasure, mostly of my 18 grandchildren. I have been collecting cameras and photographica since 1975 when I bought a Polaroid 95 at a garage sale that didn't work so I repaired it. That was fun so I did it again and again. Pretty soon I was buying old cameras that didn't need repairing. I now have somewhere around 400 or so cameras, but that's not all I collect. I like anything that says Kodak or for that matter anything that suggests photography. This can easily get out of hand and some would say it has with me. I also collect fountain pens. My second wife got me started collecting figurines that are holding a camera and I now have over 500 of those. I guess I will close this for now. Here is a website that shows my collection room made several years ago. It is considerably more crowded now. webpages.charter.net/mfmartin/museum/ROOM2253.JPG

Fred, Welcome again. How big is your house ? Once you get rid the figurines look at all the extra room you'll have for cameras. ;D I look forward to seeing more of them (the figurines and pens too). Dave.

Another 'camera' that I really like is shown here. One of my sons, Dennis, here is holding the wooden camera that he made for me for my birthday a couple of years back. He works in local TV but has a side job of craftsman. He said the bellows of this camera really gave him a challenge, cutting and assembling each individual piece.
