Sorry to revive an older thread, but I've just started working on an OpenOffice database. It's rather simplistic, but I think a good start. Here's a screenshot of it. Anybody care to comment on it or willing to share their LibreOffice or OpenOffice database template? I was thinking of making some kind of query for filtering, like have a query field where you could type in the "Brand" and all entries with that Brand would be filtered for review. Anyway, I'm trying to learn this database stuff as I go, so it's been slow in progressing. Jack, that looks fantastic. Does it have other fields to keep track of cosmetic condition, is it working, known issues, et cetera?

Hi Federico, The "Notes" field can be used for any free text like cosmetic condition, camera description, CLA info, whatever you like. In the example, I just happen to copy and paste a small portion of a wiki page. The database form is working as is. I've been thinking of making other enhancements, but I can't really wrap my head around the more complex issues of database design just yet. Just to let you know, I setup the form (visual) layout on a Mac and have not tested how it would look on a WinPC. I don't expect there to be any problems, but just in case the form looks a bit different, then you know why. As far as the database itself, there should be no difference whether it's run on a Mac or WinPC or Linux box, it should work. If you (or anybody here) would like a copy of this database just drop me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you. You'll need to install OpenOffice if you haven't already. I believe the database file should also be compatible with LibreOffice as well. Jack
