Over the past 6 months my cataracts got rapidly worse. I finally got other matters out of the way and last Tuesday I had a new lens implanted in my right eye. The left eye is scheduled for next month. When the bandage came off yesterday it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I can see vivid colors again. I can focus a manual lens again. I will need reading glasses, but that isn't a big deal. I take 2 medications, Advair and Spiriva, for my lungs. both can cause cataracts and glaucoma. So far I have no signs of glaucoma or any other eye problems. I was really afraid I'd have to give up photography, so I'm really excited about how things are working out. I shouldn't have put it off for so long.

tsiya,
I had both my eyes done in two separate outpatient operations this past October. My distance vision is now 20/20 without glasses. I need glasses to read but that choice was up to me based on cost.
You have to agree with me. The age of miracles is not over.
See ya, tsiya.

I lucked out, no glaucoma or macular degeneration, just the cataracts. You never know with 70 year old eyes. My eye doctor is a photographer, likes the old 3D film cameras. He knows how important my eyes are to me. I've got the Pentax ME Super SE out, just framing and focusing on stuff, the difference from last week is amazing.

If he teaches you about the 3D cameras, will you be his pupil?

Just got back from the doctor's office, my right eye is now 20/20! On the 19th I go for surgery on the left eye. This is just an amazing experience!
