I've just moved to Photobucket after imageshack put a limit in the numbers. I suppose the only way is to go with a proper paid account.
Doug, by the way they possibly won't be deleted but will have just had the link removed. Flickr do this with the professional accounts when they are unpaid - the photos are still there ready for re-viewing once the account is paid up..

It's possible that it was something that I did, such as accidently deleting the folder without realizing it. After all the trouble I've had with my computer, I'm just a bit paranoid Looks like I'll have to start over again. Doug

PB was giving me trouble for 3 days. It would not download anything. It seems all right now, working at its normal blazing lethargic gastropod's pace.

By the way, have any of you had an "advert" for Prometheus breaking in when a photo has been uploaded. It needs you to log on to faecesbook. It seems the only way to get to the album is to open Photobucket again.

I started using Fotki Dot Com. They charge like 25 bucks a year, but it's unlimited and ad free. I just reupped another year for only 17 bucks.

I have been using Picture Trail for a few years...it is a pay service but they do a very nice job.

Could someone who knows please list the alternatives to Photobucket or tell me where I could find such a listing.

Mickey, no and no, yes (or partly so) and yes. Wiki list: (wiki at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photo_sharing_websites. A list is difficult to keep up to date as new sites come online and those that are already there change their terms of service. Not a full list by any means. Each name points to its wiki entry (if there is one) so a fair amount of information available which may or may not be accurate. Photography Bay list: www.photographybay.com/2008/02/11/45-photo-sharing-sites/ 45 sharing sites listed, but not set up in the easiest way to find what you want. Mind you, my list won't be either. May be once I've done the donkey work I'll tabulate it better (no I won't it'll take too long). Social Times list of top 5 best free photo sharing sites: socialtimes.com/top-5-best-free-photo-sharing-sites_b7497Photo sharing sites info "the most comprehensive list of of photo sharing sites on the web." www.photosharingsites.info/. They all seem there but as they are listed in popularity order, it's difficult to find the one you want. URLs all there, I think. I looked up the options when Imageshack announced that they were putting a limit on the number of photos that could be posted free. In the end I got fed up looking at the pros and cons of the various stores. I have a paid flick r account but that is housing all my rugby photographs and I am trying to keep that separate. Of the free accounts, flick r limit you to 200, and Imageshack to 500, but several are unlimited. I am going to print a list with a bit more detail, in no particular order, with the URL. Phanfare www.phanfare.com/home.aspx 2 weeks free trial, annual fee of $29. Joomeo www.joomeo.com/gb/?ad=1&gclid=CILnh5HNsbACFUdlfAodC3hWWQ Free, unlimited with no ads or spam it says. I presume they are hoping to get your business for the other services offered. Clikpic www.clikpic.com/?gclid=CP_1gJjQsbACFSghtAod430nSw "Now you can have a professionally designed website for just £40 p.a." That's it, I'm bored with this now....happy searching.

Thanks, Dave. That is more than enough with which to work. I have been using the free Photobucket since I joined CC and I guess I am getting what I pay for. I am willing to pay for what I want if it exists. Click and drag and paste would be a first priority. Mickey
