I've been told, that it's good to take our old cameras out and click the shutters a few times. Makes good sense to keep them free and moving. Well.....I spent the better part of the day and evening taking out all of my cameras and giving them a few "clicks"..... Did I get to them all? Nope. I only did about 100. I imagine it will take me a few more days to accomplish my mission. ;D So.....the question is, Do You Click?

One camera everynight while watching TV, I run through the speeds as well as the self timer with different shutter positions, takes me slightly more than a month to run through my collection, Regards

I haven't in the past but I will from now on. It makes good sense.
I have started several times but as soon as I come upon a camera that needs further attention my resolve dissolves and I attend to the infirm one.

I try to do it several times a year but sometimes I forget. I think it's probably more important with the purely mechanical cameras that it is one electronic ones. The original grease used in my old Soviet gear tends to harden if not stirred up on a regular basis. The key on electronic shutters is to remove the batteries when not being used.

Not on a regular base ( every night, week, month or so ), but yes. Most of my babies are leaf shutter cameras. They need some clicks from time to time. Oh yes ... I know that too

My SLR's are all mechanical so I do fire the shutters at all speeds at regular intervals, apart from the two cameras I tend to use most of the time anyway. It is definitely a good way to help prevent the mechanism from seizing up.
