Just took delivery of a Minolta Autocord Standard (also called Autocord I) today. Looks like this one from Rick Olesons' Site: If any of you have a spare Bay 1 lens hood, or any extra Bay 1 filters you might be willing to part with, let me know. This one arrived in great condition but with no accessories. Gene

Gene
Welcome to the Autocord club, looks a lot like the one in my cupboard. Sorry no spare accessories though, none for myself even. I used mine once and was impressed by the lens. The price and availability of film and processing where I live makes using it too expensive compared to 35mm.

The Autocord is a pretty little camera.

Bob, Wayne, thanks. If it checks out, I'm thinking of keeping the Autocord and selling the Rolleiflex 3.5F which is much heavier. At this stage weight is a factor in what I'm willing (or able) to carry around with me.

I've always fancied an Autocord. I like that swing lever focussing. Another camera,I recall, with this type of focussing arrangement was the Meopta Flexaret.

Rachel, me too, and when this one came up for sale I jumped. I had had dealings with its owner before -- bought my Leica M2 from him -- and knew he took great care with his equipment.
There's no question my Rollei 3.5F is a 'better' camera, but at nearly double the weight and a bigger body I prefer something a bit smaller and more portable.

I've always wanted an Autocord, but I never found one I could afford. I have a few cheap TLRs but the only one I use is my Hobiflex Kit. Takes decent pics.

Hi Gene, that Autocord looks very nice. I've only heared good things about it. An acquaintance of mine (who has a much longer record as (hobby) photographer and camera enthusiast) has one, and set up one page on it within his website. His main site is www.open-eyes-photography.de.vu/. Maybe the deep link does work ... wstar.dyndns.org/oep/equipment/MinoltaAutocord.htmI did overstress my budget this year again - but I think, I'll try out the TLR world at some distant time by an Autocord - after all I am a total Minoltian :-) Best regards Peter

Peter - a total Minoltian hey? Good word!! I expect that makes me a Praktician or a Yashican. Hey - these have a certain ring to them. (Last of the Yashicans - I like it!!).

John: Does that make me a Mamiyan? Seeing that Autocord made me get my (what else) Mamiya C33 out of the cabinet, and start looking in the freez for a roll of 120!

Ron, I was going to make a joke about you not being eligible, although your lady wife was - bringing Al Jolson into it, but it got too complicated!!

Regards - John John, it's probably a good thing that I wasn't taking a drink of Coke when I read your post or I'd probably have had it coming out of my nose! "Last of the Yashicans" is very funny!
