Took my 'new' Yashicamat on its first walk to the harbour today. I didn't have the right battery for it, so I used a hand meter on this outing. I'll dev the roll tonight or, more likely, tomorrow to see how it turned out. Gene

Gene, I suspect that the camera will aquit itself just fine.... especially in your hands! Apparently the word is out on the 124G as people are paying very high prices for them. I predict that you'll be more than pleased with yours. Looking forward to seeing some results. Walker

Gene:
Did the 124G take a mercury battery and if so is there a replacement for it?

Wayne, the 124G uses a PX-13 mercury battery. The best option is an air-zinc hearing aid battery. They don't last but a couple of months but they're cheap enough, especially when purchased in sets of six or eight.
