I am new to the camera collectors world, in fact I am a newbie beginner. This could be a nice activity or hobby, time will tell. I began using cameras in 1985, and I got a nice Canon AE1, later I built a darkroom, developing all sorts of film and prints. In 1992 the photo hobby ended, sort of. Some time ago I got interested i photography again, mainly film photography. The internet was full of cheap cameras, so I ended up buying lots of cameras for fun, almost for nothing compared to their original cost. I have begun developing film again. I look forward to learn from you pros in the forum. Later I hope to contribute so others can learn from what I do. Happy shooting! I hope you not will inform my wife about joining the camera collector forum

Welcome Truls: I visited Tromso in the fall of 1979. A beautiful place although the pigeons in the park near the Amundsen statue were very aggressive. I suspect it has changed a great deal in in 33 years. Wayne

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I feel already right at home.
Wayne: Thanks for the interesting picture of my home town, time really flies. The pidgeons are not so aggressive anymore, the seagulls have taken over this part.

Truls, hello and welcome from Merseyside, England. It's good to get another European on board - especially from Norway. Norway and Norwegians have always been well liked by us in Britain. For me it is partly because my father spent several months in Trondheim at the end of WWII. His memories of the people and the places were always good. I have just been the once: the summer of 1962 and then only to the Oslo area. I have always intended to return but somehow never made it. I have memories of cars returning from the Nordkapp with antlers on their roof racks. The word is that it is quite expensive for us to visit now. Perhaps when the pound sterling is stronger I shall get there.
