Logically the first job is fresh checked batteries, and clean the battery contacts, this should release the shutter, which is controlled by the release, but mechanically releases the mirror first. I think it was a Seiki metal blade electronic shutter, a smaller version of the Copal square or a miniature Copal. These only operate with power. On the face of it nothing should be damaged, it is usual to allow for battery failure at any point without damage, just locked up unit till new batteries are fitted. You may need to release the rewind button, or rotate the sprocket shaft to release any lock up pressures, at which point it should burst back into life. Stephen.

I put batts in it . turned on the meter, which now is not responding..new problem. opened the back, moved the sprockets. pulled the mirror down, let go. then, moved the speed dial around to 90, then B. snap , boom ...mirror released its winding and snapping again... now the meter is dead...ugh is there no end. ha ha thanks again

Often the mirror is simply stuck to the old gummy foam shock absorber.
