Does.say, a 25a red filter affect auto focus on Nikkor AF lenses? I used one this morning on an F6 on a manual focus lens and though I could focus visually, it did not activate the green, focus confirmation that lights brightly without the filter in place. The opposing arrows just constantly flash. I was considering getting a couple of filters to fit some of my AF lenses, but now I wonder if using them on AF lenses would just make the lens "hunt".

Pretty dim as it's rained here most all day. Maybe It'll dawn brighter tomorrow when I'll try again. I'm no optician, but I think I read where AF lenses operate on contrasts. Maybe the red reduces the comprehention?

Just to follow up, I now realize that I posted this in the wrong place. All I saw was SLR. But I had the F6 out in some "normal" lighting and no problems. As Brian suggested, the lighting of that rainy day must have "messed" with ability of the F6 to read the contrasts. No problem with the yellow only with the red.
