It was Christmas 1960 and I was given my dream camera.. It was the 35mm Kodak Retinette 1A very basic but very well made.. No range finder of exposure meter, but we are talking about the 1960's For many years it gave good service, then one day I made the mistake of lending it to a chum .. My 1A was never to be seen again . I always keep a look out on eBay for one for the collection, but when they do come on the market the price is really high. The other day my luck was in, for just $30 and that include postage a guy had one for sale in Perth...

Greetings from across town.
It was Christmas 1960 when I was given my first real (non-box) camera: a Yashica D TLR.
I still have it.

Those are both nice cameras, and I like the memory attached to the first.
I try not to loan things to people anymore. Some people don't treat your belongings with the same care that you show them. Very aggravating, for sure.
