Whilst purchasing the Fed 4 from the junk shop, I saw these items on the shelf, Bolex Kern Paillard body cap, C mount, and a D mount Bolex back cap, and a Bell and Howell D body cap...... leave behind after another sale? The shop said they sold a couple of old film cameras, must have been left overs......One was "black and chrome and very heavy" (16mm Bolex?) and the other one a strange little brown camera, she thought it was a film camera (B&H 8mm?).... they went for a fiver, £5..... The B&H description matches this type, but the version with two lens on a turret, and the Bolex matches an H16, with triple turret, all for £5.....a lucky purchaser!

I've seen a lot of very nice cine camera's over the last 12 months or so, most in excellent condition and dirt cheap. I resist buying them as I have enough still cameras and lenses and my wife would almost certainly carry out the slow and painful death threats she makes every time I'm caught smuggling stuff into the house! ;D There is obviously a lot of quality stuff out there in the charity shops and junk shops, it just needs rescuing - but not by me!

So true, lloydy, so true... One month ago I bought a Bolex 8S at a charity shop for € 10 (with 2 Listar objectives; never heard of them, some japanese stuff; and sold it for € 15 for exactly the reasons you mentioned... Hans PS you can argue the 50% profit, but the absolute number is quite modest...:-)

A cine lens from the same junk shop, must have been with the caps, a "Pelepar" 1.5 inch, (38.1mmm), F3.5, German made D mount telephoto lens for 8mm Cine, although the same lens was sold with C mount for 16mm as well. no fungus, but needs a good clean, as it covers a 16mm frame, it could work on a digital reflex. Cost?...50 pence... Stephen.
