Hi Everyone! I went to a flea market today, and picked up an old movie projector for 10 USD, and an Ansco Shur Flash Box (made in Binghamton,NY) for 3. I'll post some photos tomorrow ( it's kind of late here). The projector has me stumped. It's an Excel Model P-26 made by Excel Movie Products of Chicago, Illinois. An impressive sounding name, is it not? It looks like it's 8mm, but every one I've seen on-line is listed as 16mm It's rather cheaply made, but I like it inspite of that HELP!!!! Doug

I thought Excel were 16mm as well, but as the design is straight forward may be they converted some to 8mm, or manufactured the 8mm version for a while. I think they date pre-war, not much on the net about them. Hope the bulb is standard type, it may cost far more than the projector to replace! Stephen.

Hi! Here are a couple of shots of my projector. Getting it cleaned up and running will make a fun project and... I've got an old movie camera and tripod to go with it. I think it will make a nice display. Doug

Have you measured the gate or the rollers to see whether it is 16mm or 8mm? it will also have a shorter focal length projection lens for 8mm. Looks an interesting restoration project. Stephen.
