No Ebay, but from another electronic flea market: IMG_1045 by hanszeiss, on Flickr An all singing and dancing Zeiss Ikon Ikonette, a Baby Tengor and a 1932 (first year) Voigtlaender Brillant. Together with these finds came: IMG_1049 by hanszeiss, on Flickr And some cameras just to play with. (or, more likely, to be given away to some students for their Lomo-hobby...). All in all not bad for 35 euro... Hans

Goedemorgen Hans! You got some really nice finds for your 35 Euros! I was especially smitten with the little Ikonette. It looks like it was cheaply made, but would no doubt be fun to use Doug

Good evening Doug,
Also from a collector's point of vue, the Ikonette is a nice camera. It was the first and last entry of Zeiss Ikon in the all-plastic market and no success at all. They tried to recall most of the produced items, as the cameras were very prone of light leaks and other mishap.
So,not too many survived and I'm very happy to get one in this condition!
Hans.
PS I just figured out that the Voigtländer is from an early batch, 1932, first model number S80817. If anyone knows a bit more of the production of this model... Claus Prochnow doesn't state production numbers.

hansz,
Is that production number stamped on your camera?
I can't find any numbers on mine.

Randy, I guess it was cold. I can't remember the temp. I find the innumerable ways that frost forms to be fascinating but I don't know what causes the various formations. I too could go for a hot chocolate - or cold - or a bar - or truffle - or ice cream - or syrup - or fudge - or brownie - or any shape at all. Damn this diabetes. Mickey

Hi Mickey,
First I have to apologize for a typo: it is bodynumber D80817 and in Claus Prochnow book Voigtländer Report 2, he states that the number D range was produced in 1932.
Location of the number is on the inside of the folding front. 'Innenseite Lichtschachtdeckel' if you know German...
I suppose your next reply belongs to the 'competition' thread...

Hi Hans !
Congratulations ! You wont find an Ikonette 35 every day. We call it: the Zeiss Banana, because of its shape. This one looks pretty fine, does it work ? I purchased a working one at a flea market here about 20 years ago, I think the price was less than 20.- EUR. I have seen two others in my life then, very expensive ( about 150.- EUR ) and not working. The Brillant also appears to be in good condition. Have fun with them !
