Back when I was in college I devote a lot of time to past times other than my studies (which is probably why I never graduated). One distraction was playing the card game Pinochle until the wee hours of the morning. Another was drinking beer and sitting in the big shower room singing folk songs and trying to play a guitar.
I never got very good at guitar playing--I was mainly a strummer and I only knew a few chords. Then I quit playing for about 40 years. But when I retired in 2010 one of the things on my "Bucket List" was to learn to play the guitar. The first step was to acquire a decent guitar. Like any hobby or craft the proper tools make it much easier. Over the last holiday I finally got the guitar. Now I have to get some callouses built up on my fingers and relearn the chords. I even considering taking a few lessons. Playing an instrument is also supposed to helop keep one's mind sharp. I need all the help I can get.
Speaking of guitars, if you want to see something funny go on Youtube and search for "United breaks guitars." Mickey, you should enjoy it, it's about a fellow Canadian.

I did enjoy it - them. There are now 3 songs.
Is United still flying?
Wayne, playing a guitar in the shower room will do as much damage as United. They don't like "wet".
My double bass has a raincoat.

Mickey: United ended up paying him $3,000 which he donated to charity. Taylor gave him two brand new guitars.
