Took a 2-mile walk today. At 1:30 p.m., 5 above zero F. It has been that way for more than a week now--very unusual for this area--about 33 degrees below normal for the date. Global warming? Shot with Iphone in high res mode.

These are -15 C ? That's frigid. But we also had heavy snow this week in Tokyo, which is pretty unusual for this region. We normally do not have less than 0 C here.

We had 48F yesterday, which is unusual for northern Ohio in January. The cold air is reaching us today, with temps falling to single digits.

Wayne, That looks like a nice place for a walk. I don't mind cold, it's the gloomy days that I don't like. Nice and sunny there Doug

Actually when the weather get like this for several days an "inversion" set in in our valley. Warm air comes in over the cold air and traps it until a major storm blows it out. It can be zero at our house and 38 degrees 30 miles away and 5,000 feet higher at the local ski resort. Some days we never see the sun even though technically their aren't any clouds -- just heavy mist that can't escape.
