I'm a new member. I call myself mistertopcon. I collect Topcon Cameras, lenses, and accessories. I have nine so far. Been using them for thirtysix years. I've got 1 RE Super,4 Super D's, 5 Super DM's (2 with winders), 1 D1, and 2 Super D's I use for parts. I've all the focusing screens ( except #7, never could find that one) I have ALL the RE lenses except for the 28mm, 300mm f5.6, 500mm f5.6,and the 58mm 3.5. I would say I have at least 99% of their accessories. I also have 4 Exaktas and some very sharp vintage lenses for them. My first camera was a Super DM with winder and a 58mm f1.4 lens. Anybody else a Topcon fan?

Unfortunately, the only Topcon I've owned was a Wink Mirror E. It looked great, but it was impossible to get working correctly - not enough lubrication, and it jammed, too much and the shutter blades oiled.

Thanks for the welcome. After 36 years of usage I pretty sure I can answer any question about Topcons. If anybody has any questions...I'm your guy. What I need right now is somebody that has ever had a topcon lens apart. I'm working on one and sure can use the advise. Thanks again.

Welcome mrtopcon.
I have no Topcons but I do have three Exaktas and two Exas and a small collection of accessories and lenses. I used my VX IIa for ten years until Minolta came along. I just recently treated it to a CLA so when electronic cameras become obsolete my great grandchildren will still be able to take pictures. Film is waiting in the freezer.

Yes Mickey,I too have a freezer full of film. I darn near died when I had to throw out my Kodachrome.

Welcome mistertopcon!
Primarily I'm a Zeiss Ikon fan, but - because of the lenses - I got (magically) some Exakta gear. Then I read 'Classic SLR' of Matanle, and the story of Topcon; got interested and - also automagically - find myself with a Super RE, DM, RE2 and about 10 lenses from 35 to the zoom, including the 1,4 standard lens with some accessories.
Great quality hardware! Very good optics! And I sold a working R - ouch, but financially necessary at the time.
Looking forward to your posts about Topcon!
Hans
P.S. I uploaded some instruction manuals at holoceen.nl, in the 'Other' tab, 'Other Photo info'

Welcome. Always admired the Topcons but never got around to actually owning one. They still fetch prices comparable or better than the Nikons from the same era.

I've only got one Topcon unfortunately, a Topcon R, which is a great camera. I did briefly have a nice Topcon RE Super that I'd received in payment for a repair, but times were hard and I had to turn that one back into money.
Regards, Chris

Topcon B? I Have what has been described as the European version of the Beseler Topcon B. So exactly what is the model number of my camera? Anybody know?
