Hi again! Anyone who knows me knows that I collect anything Ansco. I just spotted an Anscomatic 35 on ebay. It's a Haking / Hong Kong made model, but I've never seen one before so I bid on it. There's no accounting for taste I guess Doug

Doug,
Did you end up buying the Anscomatic 35? I just bought one at the local Goodwill. Take really photos. I've been looking for a manual for it with no luck. Any idea where I might find one?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I won the bid and received the camera the other day. There's not much to it, so you may not need a manual. The ring in the center of the lens sets the film speed, and you have the symbols on the lens to focus it. It's auto wind and rewind. It's a nice looking little camera, and I'll be sure to get a photo of it on here directly I collect anything Ansco, even the Haking made stuff. Doug Here it is

Doug,
Very nice camera ! Ansco`s are not common here, but we have a lot of old Agfa stuff here in good old Austria. Last week while visiting a flea market I spotted two large Agfa box cameras marked with "made in Binghampton NY", but unfortunately they had been sold within minutes, each for 10.- as I was informed. Do you know if the Ansco company also produced cameras marked with "Agfa" ?

Hi Mik!
Glad to see that you're back!! Ansco merged with Agfa in 1928. The low end cameras (with a few exceptions) were produced here in Binghamton, the higher end ones in Germany. The Agfa name was dropped in 1943.
I know that some of their cameras made here were marked Agfa-Ansco, some Ansco, but I don't think that any of the ones produced here were ever marked as Agfa only. I'll look into it.
