I was cleaning my Minox 35 AL and by accident I pressed the rewind-release button. There is no film inside the camera at the moment. As a result of the accident, the shutter won't fire and the film-transport lever won't move either.
I know this is a very ignorant question but how do I get this back to normal?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It should return on next use of the wind on with most 35mm cameras, but the Minox is battery dependant and it may be flat. This leaves the shutter un-cocked and therefore cannot release, resulting in no film transport. So check battery and clean the battery contacts and it should work fine. There are other failures that can occur, but far less likely. Stephen.

Thanks, Stephen. I don't know what happened, but this morning when I grabbed the camera everything was back to normal. Maybe the battery contacts are not super clean and the camera decided to act up just when I pressed the rewind-release button by accident.

There is another issue with the Minox, the flip down front is connected to the main on/off function of the camera.....and it might be connected to the problem. I do not know the internals, but any extra switch could be a liability. If the camera is out of use the contacts might not be clean, I would suggest opening and closing the front many times to get it back in action. The Minox 35 was well made, but did cut a few corners in design at the time it came out, relying on mouldings in plastic rather than metal etc., and they do not have a good reputation for being as reliable as other Minox models in the longer term.
