This Picture is from late January 2013. I wandered in the Woods, and at that time of year the sun appear for the first time, as we live above the Arctic circle. I only had a small compact digital camera, but one must use whatever is at hand when such mood appear. The images are not edited but only resized for web (Gimp). Proof positive that the best camera in the world is the one you have with you! In the right hands, virtually any camera can take good pictures, and yours are obviously the right ones!

Everything was against you there, shooting into the sun and snow, with a camera that probably gave you little or no control over exposure. You got a great image, and given what I've just said about the compact having little or no control it says a lot for the camera, but don't give it all the credit, the composition was yours, as was the judgement that the camera could probably do it.
