This is a small informal sharpness test. As the Takumar lens is 55mm the test is not comparable, but it gives a Clue what these lenses are capable of. I regard the Takumar lens as a very fine lens, as others also claims on various sites. The sharpness is not from center, but in the upper middle of the picture. Takumar 55/2.0 @2.0 Sears 50/2.0 @2.0 Takumar 50/2.0 @8.0 Sears 50/2.0 @8.0 As the Takumar lens is 55mm the crops are slightly off, and due to my focusing inability, you have to take this as such. However, it clearly shows both are Sharp lenses, and the Sears branded lens is almost as good as the more known Takumar. The sears lens also gives a more Depth of Field, so the sharpness may look better.

That's not just a bit better with the Sears, but a lot better at the medium aperture, nearly double. Depth of field is a direct product of sharpness, nothing else, and it all indicates a very good example of the Sears lens. it could of course indicate a Takumar that is a little below par.
