Stopped by the local American Cancer Society benefit shop Tuesday on my way home from a doctor visit. I saw a bunch of camera stuff behind the counter and asked to see it. The clerk invited me behind the counter to look at it. They were asking a flat price for the set. There was one item I really wanted, but they would not break the set, and the asking price was more than I would pay. However, the manager came over and pointed out a "blue tag", which denoted a 75% discount for one day. Could not get my wallet out fast enough! Walked out of there with:
K-mount
And what I had been looking for
After the transaction was completed, and we were loading the goodies into the nice gadget bag, and drop-in holster-type case (also part of the deal) she picked up another lens and started to put it into the case when I stopped her and told her that one was not part of the set. She asked if I could use it. I told her I had a camera it would fit, but that it was not part of the deal. She said,"It is now!" and put it in the case! FD mount
When I got home, and unloaded the case, I found the power grip, and 3 additional UV filters, a polarizer, a nice "hippy" strap, a roll of new Kodacolor, 2 new batteries (still on the card!) for the camera, and a Tamron Adapt-all II adapter for PKA! New batteries installed, and the camera fired up and worked. A new set of seals, and it will be ready for film. The only flaw in any of the equipment was the battery compartment of the Power Grip:
An hour's work with cotton swabs and white vinegar and the Power Grip works too.
Out the door cost for everything? $26.84! WooHoo!
