I managed to lose my Olympus EPM1 camera, or I cannot find it anymore. The good news, a new compact digital camera arrived today. A Canon mirrorless with a slightly bigger sensor, APS-C, if I have understood right. M42 adapter is also coming, it will be exiting learning this camera.

In theory the APS sensor being larger and with good optics from Canon, it mean sharper results than Micro 4/3. The rest remains the same, there are adaptors for lots of camera lens, and the doubling of the focal length is reduced to 1.7x rather than 2x. Mega pixels make little difference between all the main mirrorless cameras, especially if only Jpegs are used.
I stuck with Micro 4/3 as there are more lens adaptors, and Olympus's own built in image stabilisation works well, even with manual lenses.
The Canon is a bit larger overall, I think the next change I would make, is when the full frame Digital cameras fall in price, as they must within the next few years.
An excellent camera, should work well, DO NOT LOSE IT....

I am sure in two years full frame cameras are a lot more affordable. The Canon is OK, a little bigger and heavier than Olympus. I took some quick snapshots this afternoon, sharpness seems ok, nothing special either. I will try the raw format, and process them to see if sharpness increases. crop crop I could not see any difference if it was shot with the Olympus.
