Hi everybody,
I'd quickly like to introduce myself,
my name is Stefan Köder and I am from Stuttgart, Germany.
After reading some of the posts in the forum (and there is a lot of interesting stuff to discover here :-) ) I decided to become a member and join the discussions.
I started with photography about eight years ago, with a Canon EOS 450D (which was replaced with a 7D a while ago) and after some time (and after buying and using some old manual lenses on my digital body) I started to try out analog film as well.
I guess it is unnecessary to say that this is quite addictive (or else you probably wouldn't read this in the first place :-)....
I really enjoy the great mechanics of all the different cameras.
So I have more than 50 cameras at home now; and of course an even greater number of interchangeable lenses.
Especially I like the old soviet cameras; some of them have great designs and were not easily available in the western countries until recently,
some of them have only parts in them that were produced in the camera company (even the smallest screw) -
well they are... interesting.
Of course they might not be as reliable or well built as a Leica or Hasselblad, but I think they are quite sturdy and I like to take pictures with them. My Kiev 60 (equipped with Carl Zeiss Jena lenses) for example allows me to take quite decent medium format pictures and it cost me less than a hundred Euros. Some time in the future of course I'll buy a 500cm or similar, but until then I'm happy with the results.
Living in a city where the Kodak company produced for so many years, of course I like some of their cameras as well.
A few weeks ago I developed my first b&w negatives all by myself, which I think is fun as well...
if anybody wants to try that, go for it!
As you might tell by now, I'm not just collecting cameras, but I try to use them all as well.
The only exception from that might by some plate cameras and cameras with film impossible to buy or cut by yourself, I've got most of these cameras as a gift by a collegue who knew I liked that kind of stuff.
I've got a (95%) current list of my stuff on my flickr profile, which is
www.flickr.com/people/stefankoeder
if someone is interested.
Also, I've created an album for pictures of my equipment:

Thanks for reading my introduction,
have a good time and see you in some thread soon!
Best,
Stefan
