No, not OM1, but OMI, the Sunshine Additive positive colour camera made in Italy after the war, about 1948/50, a unique 35mm camera that had three lens and three primary colour filters, one over each lens. It used black and white film for colour photography.
A friend thinks he has found one of these very rare cameras, unfortunately so far without the required projector back, that took the camera and film after processing to project the three images onto a small screen.
I did examine one many years ago, in the early 1970's and ran a test film using Agfa Black and white film, which gave very good projected full colour shots. The owner would not sell it at the time.
My friend is searching a house clearance for the projector parts and is going to report back on the find.
Has any other CC member had any experience of these cameras or the rarity? I do not remember seeing any on Ebay etc. I believe from memory that only a few hundred were made at most, the maker turning to a more conventional 35 compact camera.

Yes, that's the OMI Sunshine Camera as described over the phone, and as I remember from the 1970's. The missing item is the projector housing at the back, he is still searching for it. It would be nice to acquire one of these rare cameras, if it is offered, even without the back.
The three lens colour idea dates back to Mr Friese-Green, and Paul, both working about 1900, although Paul's camera later used one lens with three spinning filters for cine use. Later Freiese-Green's son Claude, used two filters to try to commercialise the cinema system in the 1920's.
The OMI camera is a very neat version, although fixed focus, and one aperture.
There's a bit on the net about OMI, they made Enigma type cryptic encoders for military uses, amongst other high precision optical equipment.

Oh dear, stumped in two ways, he now wants to keep the camera, and he cannot find the projector......finding a spare back is going to be a near miracle!
