I've been away from the forum for so long I feel a reintroduction might be necessary.
As life has moved on, so has my photography. I've sold, bartered, or given away every film camera I owned. Despite fond memories, I just wasn't using them. I've gone through a series of digital cameras, finally setting on an Olympus OM-D and some modern Olympus and Panasonic lenses for it. My carryaround camera is a Fuji X10, but I probably using my cellphone as much as either of them for a camera.
To tell the truth I've been in a kind of funk with photography for the past year or so, not taking a lot of shots and not getting too excited about getting out there. Perhaps you've gone through similar periods.
On other fronts, I'm happily retired and have been doing some writing. In fact (shameless plug), I just published an ebook guide called Markdown for Writers:
www.amazon.com/dp/B00E83NZ6Q
It's about using the Markdown and MultiMarkdown markup schemes to allow you to use a plain-text editor in place of a word processor, but still have access to attributes such as italic and bold, lists, URL links, heading levels, etc. It's a small little book (and inexpensive) but I'm proud of it. It's also available at lulu.com and kobobooks.com. Eventually it should find its way to Apple's iBookstore and Barnes & Noble's Nook bookstore.
I shall deeply miss Peter Wallage. He and I had some great exchanges.
I hope everyone has remained relatively healthy and that all of you have been doing more shooting than I have.
Cheers,
Gene
