One of my favorite lenses is a Viv/Komine f3.5 200mm tele, in M-42 mount. I've adapted it to virtually every SLR in my collection, and it rolls merrily along! These were taken with it mounted on my 20D using a chipped M-42 adapter, at f8, 1/500, ISO 400. Minor adjustments made in GIMP: Mickey, here are some more of the same gaggle seen in the sunrise shot of a few days ago. There must have bee a hundred or more in this field, which is the same one in the sunrise pic. Don't know what the dark plumaged, long billed birds are, but there were a lot of them too. Roy

I have only been using older F mount lens on my D3100. The only lens I get poor results is with a 500mm f6 mirror lens. Not positive but the long billed birds look like Ibis's. Be a few more months before we have any geese here. Nice photos.

According to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic texts found on an old papyrus scroll in the tomb of Tutankhamen the plural of ibis is "more than one ibis".

That's the very one.
That is the royal scribe, Phut Ankh Ramen. They say he had the fastest shorthand in the upper and lower kingdoms.
He had a nervous breakdown when the beloved young pharaoh died at such an early age. His hands began to tremble. He was re-assigned to be one of the royal fanners for queen Nefertiti where trembling hands were an asset.

Wilson Keppel and Betty, and if your American, they were very famous Variety stars for 40 years, try You tube for films of them. You tube has a new clip of them from a Danish film, very rare clips of the amazing dance act. Joe Keppel was a great friend of my Grandfather, born in Cork in Ireland in the same street, and nearly joined the act in the 1930's. Wilson was American, as was Betty, the dancer with them. Much copied, but these are the originals!!!! The whole act was known as Cleopatra's Nightmare........... Stephen.

That's a great clip, the sand dance is fabulous. And Roy's Komine isn't bad either.
