Hi there. Stumbled on the site while researching some information about an IBSOR shutter. I have a few old cameras. I shoot a lot of film.  I'm based in Huntington Beach, California. Looking forward to learning a few things about old cameras.

Welcome to the CC. Many of the members have their names in their signatures, some don't. The more you post here Brian, the better you get to know us. My name is Randy, and I'm the originator of this forum. I collect many different brands of cameras, but mostly Minolta.

It's nice to see what people collect. And having read a few of the posts in other areas of the site its clear to me that there is good knowledge sharing going on. In a friendly way, too, it seems. I like friendly!

As far as my own small collection of cameras goes, I don't seek out a particular brand or type, although I have acquired about a dozen or so Polaroid Land Cameras, and I think I have 5 Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flash models.

Mostly I shoot with an Olympus XA or XA3, and also lately a lot with a Minox 35GT. (I love small pocketable 35mm cameras.) My Canon F1 gets a lot of exercise, too. The past couple of weeks in particular, though, I've been shooting with a Yashica 635 that I recently picked up. (I love TLRs.)

From time-to-time I'll pull out my old Voigtlander Bessa and shoot with that, or a Brownie Hawkeye Flash, or even my old Brownie Hawk-eye No.2 Model C. Sometimes with one of my Polaroids, too. Lately my 450 has been getting a workout.

I shoot digital once in a while. I have a Canon 7D, which is a great camera. But digital fails to excite me like film does.

Brian, some friends have just headed out to their son who is living in San Francisco theses days. They are hiring a car later and heading down to LA (& beyond?) If you bump into two ancient Brits looking totally lost ask them if they are Dave and Angela.
