Its That Man(go) Again (sorry Peter - couldn't resist!) OK - no doubt about it, these are family snaps. At least the subject is considerably more photogenic than I am! What's going on? Solidarity Checking out the brandy sauce Legless after the brandy sauce He's thinking of starting a fan club!! Regards - John

Hi John,
Cats are always photogenic, but not always easy to catch at the right moment. I like the first and third of these shots best where you've caught Mango well. Just one point, the flash has bleached out some of the white detail in his coat. If you've got Photposhop or something similar I wonder if reducing the highlight contast would make the fur look better?
I loved ITMA. I suppose now you'll have to get more cats and name them Jack (Train) Dino (Galvani) and Dorothy (Summers) - Kin I do yer now, Sir?
For the benefit of our American members (and some younger members on this side of the pond) I ought to explain that ITMA stood for It's That Man Again, a very popular radio show during the war.

Hi Peter,
Yes I knew you'd get the reference! As it happens I have just bought Photoshop 7 so as to have a play around and to see what all the fuss is about - it was your touch-up of my Spanish Fiesta shot that led me down that road.
The only thing is, having looked at it I haven't the foggiest idea where to begin. It's one of the scariest programs I've ever seen! So today I've been out again and bought a book on how to drive it, which I estimate will take me about a month to plough through. Then, hopefully, I can begin to resurrect some of the thousands of old snaps I've got in boxes everywhere. Watch out for input on the Nostalgia forum!!!
Regards - John

John,
Which book did you buy?
I only have PS Elements 2 and am still trying to plow through the learning curve for 2 years now. And I bought the book, "Elements for Dummies".
But even learning slowly there are neat things you can do with the PS programs, basic or advanced.
Have fun...that's what it is all about!

Ron
Bought it from a remaindered book store. Its called "50 Fast Digital Photo Techniques". It's supposedly non-program specific but it comes with a try-out version of Elements and an evaluation version of Photoshop on CD. Says its for digital images whether from a camera or scanned, so sounded just what I needed.
Luke
You're right - it is Him/Her !!!
