Just upgraded today from 1.5 mbps to 15 mbps internet speed. Actually our old provider sort of pushed us into going elsewhere by jacking up the price on the slower speed. Some folks are going to 50 mbps and beyond but since we don't online game didn't see any reason for that. The one place we really notice the difference is on-line video and downloading lengthy files -- something like 10 times faster. I started out in olden times with a 300 baud modem --- downloading programs for my Commodore PET by phone from local bbs's before there was even an Internet. Things have changed.

I have 19 mbps from Roadrunner. It sure beats the days when I first started this forum using a Webtv.

I rememberthose days well. I've got 50mbps from Xfinity and love the speeed of the modem ... I run my Mamiya Collectors forum, my writing web site (www.ronaldherron.com) and my media pages (www.ronaldherron.org) and upload photos and video really fast. Don't do any games, but I sure appreciate not having to wait around for uploads/downloads anymore.
My iPhone is faster than my early CPU's used to be! ;-)
