The gentleman in full WWII uniform disembarking from the DC-3 is Colonel Gail Halvorsen, one of the originators of the candy drops over Berlin during the Berlin Airlift. He was escorted to the speakers' podium where he was met by a half dozen children, now grown, who were recipients of the candy drops. The emotional introduction was handled by the German Consul General. Circling overhead during the ceremony was this C-54 identical to the one flown by Col. Halvorsen during the Airlift. Roy

Maybe one of these days, I'll get a handle on this digi-stuff! Second try with the C-54. Like this one better. Whattya think? The other one was over comped for backlight, as least to my eyes
