I've been collecting for quite a long time. Started out with mostly Minolta equipment and then moved up to medium format and then large format. Now I just collect cameras that work and have film available for them.

Pete, That's an impressive collection. Minolta must be very fond of you. Mickey

I would have been a lot happier if Sony had carried over some of the funtionality of the Minolta Maxxum's when they took over the Minolta camera division. I purchased a Sony Alpha DSLR and tried some of my Minolta equipment to see if anything was compatible. The only thing from Minolta that works with Sony is the Maxxum wired remote release. None of the Flash units work with Sony, or the Flash Meter IV IR functions or the Minolta IR receivers. The IR devices plug into the Alpha camera bodies, but nothing functions. Thankfully Sony left the lens mount the same. At least I can use my Maxxum lenses on my Alpha camera. That was the main reason I bought a Sony Alpha camera.

Looks like you have an extensive collection of electronic flashes, too. Welcome.

Welcome Pete, to the group. And, can you share your Super Ikonta details with us - well, with me anyway:-) Hans Hi Hans, I got the Zeiss Super Ikonta from a collector who purchased it during a visit to Germany. He said that this model was not meant for export. The distance scale around the lens edge is marked in meters only. There are no feet markings. The front of the camera is embossed with Super-Six under Zeiss Ikon. The side of the camera is marked 530/16. The lens is marked Tessar 1:2.8 f=8cm, Carl Zeiss Jena, No 1698658. When I purchased the camera I was playing with the self timer and jammed the shutter. I sent the camera out to Flutots for a CLA and it's been fine ever since. I no longer fiddle with the self timer per Carol Flutot's advice. Attachment Deleted

Thnaks Pete, for the info,
On the body, a body number should be embossed, 1 letter followed by 5 digits max. Then your camera will end up in the 'endless' numbers on holoceen.nl :-)
ciao, Hans

Hi Hans. Looked all over this camera and the only numbers I see embossed into the leather is 530/16. Inside the back cover however, stamped into the metal of the body is the number B741.
