Hey everyone, I'm excited to have found this opportunity to see what everyone else is in to and keep learning as I go. I collect mostly Pentax SLR's from the 70's + 80's. But I'm getting into Kodaks that were made here in Canada.

Hey everyone, I'm excited to have found this opportunity to see what everyone else is in to and keep learning as I go. I collect mostly Pentax SLR's from the 70's + 80's. But I'm getting into Kodaks that were made here in Canada. heavyd, I like Kodak products and have over 100 cameras from box cameras to many folders of all ages to 35mm and everything in between. They were usually available within my limited means. I guess one could say I specialize on the Vest Pocket Kodaks Model b. I have nine of them. Each is different in some way from the others. The VPK's Model B. A Kodak Medalist is one of the favourites of my entire camera collection. I think its design is still unique in the camera world. Herewith The Kodak Medalist I I never was particular in going after Made in Canada Kodaks though if one came my way I always grabbed it. They were pretty much identical to the American counterparts. They were made in the town of Mount Denis which was west of Toronto until it was swallowed up by the big city. It used to be an impressive complex. But with the serious decline in Kodak's fortune I am not sure what is left today. My Canadian Kodaks are displayed side by side with the similar US cameras. I was always impressed by the British Kodaks, particularly the Brownie box cameras. I think you have chosen a large and interesting sideline to pursue. Mickey

A great themed collection. I'm sure you can pick up Kodaks cheap too.

Welcome! Hmmm, Pentax - my favorite K-1000, bought new in 1980, is still happily firing. And a few Spotties, an ME... You are not alone!

Heavyd, welcome.
p.s. excellent alliteration. Samuel Taylor Coleridge has a rival (or was it Sheridan who had a rival).
The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew, The furrow followed free; We were the first that ever burst Into that silent sea.
(The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.)

Kodak cameras.. just a tad before Kodak's George Eastman started on his spending spree. I'm talking about some of the nicest looking cameras ever made the Rochester Optical Company Pony Premo series, I have a few in my collection and one of them still gets used.. I may be using it this weekend at the local film users groups Sunday photo walk.

I love getting up in the morning, having a few high test espressos and sitting looking at everyone's cameras. I'm off now to continue a search for a black bodied Spotmatic. My dream camera from years ago.
