Hello every one.. Well since I signed up I might as well introduce myself. My name is Jeff And I guess I can say a camera collector. My little collection keeps growing more and more by the week. I also enjoy researching about them. Well what else can I say.. HMMMM.. I don't like to restore my older cameras to pristine condition, I like the worn look they have acquired over the years, But I do try to find a piece that is missing, Or if it has a sticky shutter getting that repaired. I like the idea of all of them in working order. A few others that haven't had film made in decades I leave original besides converting them to using whats available now. I tried when I started to stick to pre 1940's cameras, but since then that has been thrown out the window. Well that's sort of it in a nutshell. My favorite camera I have in my collection is my Heidoscop. I am on a Polaroid kick at this moment. I am picky and only look for certain ones. I like to try and get the user manuals. I need to get a Spartaflex TLR because every time I see one ebay I hear in my head "THIS IS SPARTAFLEX!!!" and it makes me laugh a little. Ok other things I do.. I collect silent movie star memorabilia.. I LOVE silent movies and a HUGE fan. I enjoy doing graphic art on my computer. I enjoy old books. Married with 2 teenage kids, 2 dogs and to many cats. And a few other boring things.. Thank you!

Welcome, The New Guy, Jeff.
I think you have found the ideal place to roost. You sound very much like most of us - Wonky.

Welcome, The New Guy, Jeff. I think you have found the ideal place to roost. You sound very much like most of us - Wonky. Mickey Thanks! I am glad to be somewhere that seems friendly and open to all aspects of this. I admit I was a stalker of the forum for a few weeks when I accidentally ran across it before I joined. I don't have a big budget for doing this, I'm not photographer.. Well I dabble, And I don't settle on just on one brand or type. I just enjoy this. And some times I secretly like the attention you get when out and about snapping pictures on film. Wonky... oh yes And happy to be!

Welcome on board! Don't we all live on a tight budget? It adds to the fun of collecting! Hans

Nothing is boring!
I think one cuts one's collecting to suit one's cloth - if that doesn't have too many ones in there. My proposed collection of Leica equipment stalled very early on, and "proper" Rollei stuff never got started.
Welcome Jeff Wonko.

Hi, welcome to the group. It's nice to see some Rollei equipment. You don't see much these days. I have a small collection but sadly not used these days. Rolleicord IIa Rolleicord Vb Rolleiflex 3.5F Rolleiflex SLX I also have a few bits of Rollei 35mm.

Thank you Hansz, Daveh and Rachel for the welcome!
I think I am happy to have a tight budget. It makes it a little more challenging, and well...helps save on space. But it can also put some things out of reach unless you get extremely lucky and find some one selling "it's just an old camera you can't use" item stashed in a junk box. Any Leica types I might get will be of that type .. that's why I don't have one as of yet.
My Rollei cameras are great.. Although the Rolleicords are a bit tatty and need some repairs. The Automat is almost pristine and when it goes out on the town with me, It grabs attention. My K1 (not pictured yet) is in retirement. It looks good but it shows in film take up area and on the knobs it has seen a lot of things. And then there is the Heidoscop. This is the camera that gave me the bug, it was my very first camera.
Actually I think I might TRY to get all of my little collection in one family picture. The Kodak's, The Rollei's The Polaroids, And the others I just have one of. I haven't taken any in a long time I keep putting it off due to the "Well.. I will wait till I get this other one" Syndrome.
Looks Like I will enjoy being here. I have tried a few other places, but was not pleased or put off. This isn't about the size of your collection or you spent $2,000 on a Leica. I think it's supposed to be about enjoying this as a hobby, learning about them, and just having fun.
