Why izzit I can't sleep in my bed, but if I put something educational on the TV I can sleep like a baby in my recliner? My wife says it's because I'm old. The older I get, the more daring my past exploits become also.

Perhaps you can't sleep because of the need for 'education'. Whatever that means

Randy, is your wife ever right?
It is always a strange one, sleep. When there is a film I really want to see (usually old and in B&W), I normally wake up just as the end credits are rolling.

Doesn't have to be age related. That would be ageism, second only to sexism. Did you sleep through school too? It happens at all ages.

No, I did NOT sleep through school...did you? School was over 50 years ago.

I watched Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai a few weeks ago, the wife got up for work as the credits were rolling. 4+ hours of black and white Japanese film with subtitles. Superb!! I stayed awake all the way thru it. It's hilarious. I watch 'educational' programmes when Mrs B is at work - whatever they are. Maybe.

I watched the Magnificent Seven not too long ago. A case where the knock-off has become as much of a classic as the original.

I have seen Magnificent seven but didnt think much of it. Classic or not. I'm not keen on westerns anyway.
