The yellow brass cartridge is a policeman's whistle Yardstick is correct. That is a beautiful whistle. If I knew I could have one like that I might have become a policeman instead of a Title Searcher.

S for Sooty's House. Home to Matthew Corbett, the man who's hand Sooty keeps warm. Sooty was out for a stroll when I took this picture. In 1953 or 54 , Sooty with Harry Corbett followed a children's programme featuring Rolf Harris. I assume Matthew is a son or grandson of Harry.

Matthew is Harry's son, he lives in this picturesque house by the Bridgewater Canal. The building is known locally as 'Sooty's House'. I loved Sooty and Sweep when I was a kid, and was thrilled to be an extra when they were filming a segment on location. WOW I just googled his campervan and there it is, a picture taken when they were filming outside M&S in Manchester!

This topic has gone a bit off alphabet. So based on Genazzano's 'isenschweiss' which is I. Here is... J for Jay (Garrulus glandarius) the most colourful member of the crow family (in UK) and my favourite wild bird in my area. A private bird, usually only spotted flitting about in shrubs and hedges A bold one was spotted in a feeding station at Risley Moss. I managed a couple of dozen shots of this elusive beauty. Photographed using my Sony A6000 and Photosniper Tair 3PS 300mm f4.5 lens. I modded the shutter trigger to fire my Sony, Pentax or Nikon. Link to Risley moss: Risley Moss
