Got it in a bag of other lenses a yeear ago. I have used the lens most on film, quality is acceptable. The lens are sold in other brands, cannot remember which. Made in Korea, Samyang? It has a nice close up distance, 20cm (8 inches). Here the lens, mounted on Micro 43 to PK adapter. It becomes a 56mm lens. Sears 28mm 2.8 Olympus micro 4/3. Standard picture of flower, f8.0 100% crop, fair quality. My test chartCenter quality. Image upper left f 2.8, middle f 4, and so on. We can se bad quality at f 2.8 and 4, rapid becoming better until f 22, then it is more blur. Edge quality. As in the center, it becomes better from f 5.6. Here, image on film, at f 11. The hood was to big, hence the vignetting. Good contrast, sharp enough. I like this lens, wide angle on film, do not have to be 100% spot on focus, close focus abilities, lightweight, fair quality, cheap, easy to get.

Ranger and Sirius for two. I have had one of theses apart (the Sirius, I think). I've probably not quite screwed the name plate down enough, hence they are not quite aligned identically. Even the serial numbers look to be in the same series. Both are Pentax K-bayonet. The few times I have used them the results seem quite reasonable. Truls, Good series, keep it going. I must test these two. 1) against each other and 2) against your Sears.

I have a Centon 70-210 (I think that's the range - I'll recheck later) which looks remarkedly similar overall, with the bobbles on the grip looking pretty much identical.

Ranger and Sirius for two. No doubt the same lens. I found another review of this lens, leaving little hope for any quality, he may have a bad copy: Sears 28 2.8 review.
