Shot with my Tokina 80-200mm f2.8 zoom in Nikon ai mount. Little head movement in picture of grandaughter but in original scan you can see the weave of the cloth in her shirt. Power pole photo was backlit but still got reasonable results. The Tokina is a keeper.

Hi Wayne,
The picture of your grandaughter is a lovely picture of a beautiful little lady. One to keep and treasure for years.

Granddaughter is going to be a superstar ! Madonna - eat your heart out !
As to the power lines picture, I couldn't understand why it didn't 'work'. Took it out and blew it up (do that quite often in Word). It was the red topped bag at the bottom. If you're going to do symmetrical, small eyecatching discrepancies don't seem to work. Could have lived with the variations in plough lines. But... a child in brightly coloured clothes, maybe walking a dog might just...
Yeah, yeah, yeah - you know what I mean !!
Regards - John

John. You are absolutely correct. That orange flag destroys the composition and pulls the eye off target. I saw it in the viewfinder and since I essentially shooting a test shot I was, well, too lazy to move it!, BTW further review revealed the shot actually was made with the Tokina with my Kiron MC-7 2x extender behind it--giving me essentially a 400 mm. Not bad for an extender--especially one about 20 years old. The hill with the buildings in the far distance on the right side of the photo is about 6.5 miles from the camera position. Our grandaughter's mom was not too pleased that I shot her when she was "rumpled." I told her if she wants classic portraits she can take Gracie to the one-hour portrait studio.
