I've been indulging myself by writing fiction. Four books published so far...some doing passably well. You can find out more at my web site. Oh, I also have a blog.

I paint. I am considered a hero by the manufacturers of oil paints and brushes and canvasses. Oh, incidentally, I also take pictures. Lots of pictures. Now that I have a digital camera I can at last afford the price of film. Mickey P.S. I almost forgot. I write letters. Lots of letters. Trainloads of letters. Letters to people I like and very, very many to those I don't like - mostly that are relevant to causes which concern me. Sometimes a thread on a particular subject can go on and on. I join in with relish. But I never use profanities. Then comes the time for me to send something really nasty. A real zinger. I can hardly wait for the outraged reply. It always arrives and usually with a vocabulary that would shock as US President. That is the end of the thread. I don't respond. I leave the poor jerk hanging and swaying in the breeze and hopefully tearing his/her hair out. I am evil. M.O.

No I haven't. But I have received far too many from people who don't know how to shake hands.

I am writing two at the moment and have a story based round Kurt Cobain's death in the research/planning stage Sounds interesting. I have the same character in all three stories. number one deals with his life and luck, number two deals with his death and number three is really an extended chapter from book one. This is the Kurt Cobain story, woven round what happened the week leading up to his death. My character fills the gaps in the story and is involved to some extent in Kurt's death including helping Kurt write his suicide note. oops I gave that bit away! I have a million ideas in my head, no writers block there but putting it all together is a daunting task. Book one contains loads of necessary flashbacks so I'm flicking chapters about back and forth to see how they will fit. Each chapter is like a small story and they all get together eventually to explain who our character is and how he has reached this situation. He's not the nicest person but you see how he became this person.

I am an amateur telescope maker. I have an 8" diammeter pyrex mirror that needs final figuring. I do most of my own own work on my motorcycles and cars. I enjoy the shooting sports. I have a very eclectic collection of firearms most WWII era. I reload for everything I shoot and I have some exotic calibers. Bicycling is a passion and I ride 16 miles round trip to work on the days that weather permits. Most important is my family and with all three of my kids living locally and owning houses, I enjoy helping them out when I can. I love to read but writing does not come as easy to me as the others on this topic post.

I would like a shed full of tools but unfortunately living in an upstairs flat precludes this. Luckily my laptop and box of paint and craft materials are enough to keep me occupied.

One of my "other" hobby's are old super sports and racing bikes, these are the two i'm currently driving, the big one's a '89 honda 1000 CBR (it is as old as some of my nikons ) and the small one's a Spanish 2000 derbi 2 stroke 50cc race replica. But even though i've got these two bikes registered they're just a hobby as my daily (two wheeled) commuting is done on a 125cc yamaha cygnus scooter wich is a lot more practical to drive than either of the sports bikes.

Joining the hobby list: Dogs/cats, two of each. Training of the dogs take some time everyday, skiing or dog sledding. Trashed computers. I find them in the trash, install Linux and use them as servers in different ways. A cheap hobby, only cost of a harddisk now and then. My main server is handling all of our mail and two web servers, picture sharing. Computer is from 2001! Cut wood: Our estate contains lots of trees, to avoid owercrovding I have to cut them to later burn in the oven. Nothing fancy

Was buying old dirt bikes and mini bikes to restore when I retire but another in a series of knee failures (LOL) put the kibosh on that so now I'm just fixing up three mopeds and my Honda Passport. Selling the rest bit by bit, sigh.

Like Col, elsewhere, I have been absent from the forum for a lengthy period of time.
One of my hobbies is volunteer announcer on a community radio station. A great way to impose my musical tastes on others.
