I got my hands on some cream colored ostrich leather, it is rather expensive and i didn't want to waste it on a cheap camera. It wasn't enough to cover a nikon but just enough for the Olympus, because the back part of the oly is devided by the film box window i didn't need a large piece. So the oly became my next victim. The problem with the ostrich leather is that it is thicker than i tought it would be, secondly the thicknes varies a lot because of the structure of the leather, the bulges where the feathers sat in the skin are rather thick and tough to cut through. Anyway, here's another of my projects learning while doing. By the way, it was some time ago since i've handled an Olympus OM, and it surpriced me just how incredibly smooth the c amera operates, the mirror and shutter and transport are really silky smooth. To bad the OM 2 spot program goes through expensive batteries at an alarming rate !

What trip would you like? Also an Olympus but of a diffrent kind than the OM,the 35 is covered with the best leather i had so far, it is a very soft lambleather, with a snake print, really nice to work with, just be careful you use VERY sharp blades as it stretches easely when force is put upon it and when cutting with a template your cut won't match anymore.

Very nice indeed. It would look great with yellow/brown paint in the engraving.

You have got almost professional in short time. The Olympus Om2 is said by those who used it, is a very special camera. Almost Leica like in usage, and a unique viewfinder. Some have solved the battery drain problem by setting the shutter in one mechanical speed.
