Day out at The Kent and East Sussex Railway at Tenterden in Kent, which runs down the River Rother valley. Russian Zorki 1 used, with the newer 50mm Industar and 135 F4.5. telephoto. Fuji 200asa film, Agfa branded, scanned to disc before editing. Weather a bit problematic, it was sunny and torrential rain, or any combination thereof! Metered with Weston V. Despite the poor light in general there was a bit of sunshine around, the camera behaved properly, with even shutter exposure. The shot through the coach window is darker on the right due to the thick window glass. A short preserved Light Railway line in Kent. View of wet station platform, everybody had taken cover, shot through the coach glass window. Loco in use was this day, an Austerity Hunslet 060 Saddle Tank, Holman F. Stephens, named after the owner of the Rother Valley Railway line in the Edwardian period. Driver for the day. Station shop. Passengers. Tenterden Crossing. Tenterden Signalbox in the rain. Station Firebuckets. Luggage on display. Staff Cottage No1 Wittersham Road Northiam Station Northiam platform 50mm standard Industar F3.5. 135 mm lens. Back in the Rain........

Steam nostalgia is always a good day out. Nice set, Stephen. Did you take any other cameras with you?

Thanks for sharing, very good set of pictures. I really like your choice of composition. Lens and camera behaves very well, did you adjust anything before? I miss having a train station to attend taking pics.

I took the Lumix Dc-9 compact as well, duplicating some shots, and a 6x9 Ensign, but I have not processed these 120 shots as yet. In general the digital shots came out better, but after careful tweeking in the Gimp, the film beat them on colour, which was somewhat flat due to the rainy conditions. The rain keep people off the platforms, making it a bit bear at times, there were plenty of visitors to the line.

A strange effect is on the first shot of the Loco, it has a light haze disk which does not show so much on my monitor, but shows a lot on the tablet screen of my Hudl. Must the contrast range being different. I will get the 120 finished and post them.

Three more shots on 120 Fuji clour negative, taken with the Ensign 6x9, scanned from prints. Worked well 1/25th sec at F11. Main difference is fall off at the edges. Un-coated lens did give lower saturation, increased in the Gimp a bit. Before the rain...Main Platform Tenterden. Museum in the rain... Tenterden Station. Drizzling rain.....Tenterden Road Level Crossing Stephen
