Bought a couple of weeks ago as a jammed solid camera body, a rather nice condition Zorki 2C, no lens, but it had a decent Leica body cap fitted.
Very cheap due to the solid bricking of the camera. The blinds were there OK, and all parts present, including the take up spool.
I stripped it down to the shutter crate, which in this series is die cast metal, which did not require machining. It is held by the four s rews on the front, but remains with the top plate as usual.
The jam was down to somebody fiddling with the speed knob, firing on an un- marked position etc., it eased immeadiatly, and freed up generally in about 5 minutes of working the shutter. Whilst out, I checked the shutter speeds and they are accurate, but the first blind needed tightening a touch. The second blind runs freely.
No wear to the cloth, no pin holes or tears, metal edged blinds.
No delayed action on the Zorki C, no low speeds, and 500th Max speed. It has the variable timing for the flash built in. Traditional bottom film loading.not
Now lubricated and spring return adjusted, it is quiet and smooth now.
The rangefinder tests OK on a 50mm F2, and an Elmar. Very slight vertical miss alignment, but it has been corrected now.
I have run a test film through it, with a 50mm Industar I trust, 35mm wide angle and the 135mm F4.0 telephoto.
Shots will be up loaded soon, the results look fine.
Looks like a decent Zorki, little used overall, and a good example of a Russian 1950's camera.
I have another 2C, and they compare exactly on noise and smoothness.
