Howdy y'all. My name is Jeff. I live in the swamp between Orlando and Tampa, FL. I have been a snapshot-shooter and camera-fancier for a long time.
My foray into cameras "of a certain age" only began about a year ago when I was looking for the right tool to shoot some 120 film. Now I have a couple Mamiya TLRs, a Kodak Medalist, a Brownie, and an Argus, plus various Nikon and Pentax SLRs.
My interest is mainly in functional cameras. I do like to make pictures with them. Of course, "functionality" is somewhat subjective.
Thank you for maintaining such a useful and informative institution on the WWW.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum. That's an interesting collection you have.
Please browse through the old posts on this forum and reply.
The competitions we have are aren't really contests, just a gallery where we show photos on a given theme. A couple run alphabetically. Be as imaginative as you want.
We are a collectors forum and therefore pics and discussion of your cameras is our primary interest. There are galleries to show off your skills as a photographer. Phil

Welcome Jeff,
I am sure you will find The CC to your liking.
If you live in a swamp you must have some interesting and photogenic neighbours.

Interesting neighbors indeed. I have snapped a few digital pictures of the alligators and armadillos, but neither I nor the critters have been patient enough to sit for a proper portrait with a real camera. Even the gopher tortoises move pretty quickly in the swamp, lest the mosquitos get them.
Alligators, armadillos, lizards, snakes, raccoons, fox squirrels, vultures, panthers, gopher tortoises, wild pigs, owls, coyotes, cattle, donkeys, goats, horses, a hundred varieties of spider, ten-thousand varieties of insect (mostly mosquitos), pythons, snapping-turtles..... Its a long list.
There is a lot of pasture land here; swampland drained & cleared for cattle. At the edges of these pastures are ancient oak trees bearded with Spanish moss. It makes for some interesting landscapes. I must figure out how to post a picture to the site.

Wow! What a crowded neighbourhood.
Meanwhile I am sitting at home, looking out my office window, watching some squirrels and robins steal my tiny frozen crabapples as the snow lightly falls.
Jealously, Mickey

Add attachment, click on it and search for the file on your computer. Maximum 1mb. But its only a small image, click on it and it will enlarge. Sometimes the forum tells us that they have exceeded the attachment limit. B: link from a picture hosting site. Copy image URL and then click on the image icon and paste the URL in the http box good luck Phil
