Altissa Altix-n, East German compact from the 1960's, made by VEB Altissa, Dresden, later Pentacon. Bought on Ebay, with leather case, it has a Carl Zeiss Tessar 50mm F2.8 standard lens, which is mounted on the Altix bayonet mount. No meter or rangefinder on this version, the top window illuminates the viewfinder. I already have the 35mm F4.5 wide angle in the right mount. Stephen.

Nice, the later 1959 version. I have the 1957 version, a little different but with the same lens. A nice little camera to use. I have one of these on the way at the moment, a body only. Looking forward to getting it.
You can use the lens on an M42 camera as the flange focal distance is within almost identical - despite what the FFD lists on the web tell you

Thanks Stephen! Actually one of the latest Tessars for the Altix.
At the end of the month this # will also be featured on holoceen.nl.
More plugging: if one is interested, there is a group on Yahoo (ZICG - Zeiss Ikon Collectors Group); also, the Zeiss Hostorica Society has its homepage on facebook, it is moderated by Steven Koves.
