Hi folks. I'm John and I seem to have fallen into collecting and using elderly cameras more or less by accident, since realising I was never going to be able to afford a Nikon D3 and buying an F3 instead. Since then I've acquired an Agfa Isolette with the Solinar lens, and another Isolette with the Apotar, a Yashica Mat TLR, a couple of Voigtlander Bessamaticas, a Voigtlander Vitomatic, a Zorki 5, a Bencini Comet, a Braun Paxette II, a Balda Baldini and various other ancient cameras. I've used a Nikon D200 for years but am rapidly getting to love using rangefinders, for their simplicity and ease of use. In fact, the D200 tends to stay at home nowadays. Anyway, looking forward to browsing the site.

Welcome, John - from another John.
Your collection sounds remarkaby like mine. I try not to spend more than £15, including postage. And all are used as often as I can afford.

Cheers chaps. I like anything that I can pick up cheaply and use, which is also reasonably interesting and quirky. I find that modern cameras - which look more like weapons than cameras - can inspire hostility among those who see you taking pictures; old cameras inspire nothing but curiosity and interest. At worst, no one takes you seriously!
