I recently bought two mirrorless cameras (pentax Q and samsung NX100), just so i could fool around with "old glass" and adapters.
The adapters i've used are Q to nikon, Q to C-mount, Q to m42 and NX to FD. Results on the Q were dissapointing all the way neither nikon nor canon or pentax gave good results. The anti shake isn't usable with anything else than the original pentax Q glass and so is "focus peeking" so it is hard to get the camera stable and achieve critical focus. All lenses i've tried on the Q gave very bad CA. When using longer focal lenghts even the slightest movement deformes the image badly, strangly enough this has nothing to do with the shutter speed as even at 1/1600th this fenomenon occures (can somebody please explain how this is possible?)
Wide appertures are punished by unsharpness, things only improve at f4 (my guess this is caused by difraction on the large surface of the glass compared to the very small sensor) So my verdict on the Pentax Q unless you want to use it for still lives on a stable tripod don't bother or stick to the original Q lenses if you want to use the camera to it's full extend. My Nikon P 100 bridge gives better results all the way over the Q so when i want a small verstatile package the P100 is in my bag.
Now the NX 100 is a diffrent story, it has a DX size sensor wich really outperformes the Q. The NX's body isn't small by any standard and save for a pentraprism there's no gain in size over a regular reflex camera. The NX hasn't got in body stabilisation and only an LCD screen to compose and focus on, focus peeking dosn't work when using adapters (same as the Q here)My first tests with "old" canon glass did gave some hopefull results and the 50mm 1:1,2 even wide open didn't produce ca or diffraction ( neither did the 200 2,8) as far as i am concerned the NX will be the mirrorless camera with wich i will continue my lens experiments. I've bought this chinese LCD viewing loupe wich was useless at first as the focus of the lens in it lied way beyond the LCD screen, after i've added an old nr 3 close up wich happened to be the right diameter, the focussing loupe now worked. However the resolution of the LCD screen isn't high enough to critical focus a 1:1,2 lens ( this is even so on a AF reflex as AF focussing screens can't distinguish critical focus on appertures wider than 2.8, thats why i use cats eye focussing screens in the body i use with manual wide apperture lenses)Anyway next on the list is to see what my Angenieux 2x35 will do on the NX and wait for the LEICA R adapter so i can use my R lenses on the NX. Final conclusion? i don't think i'll ever use a mirrorless on one of my paid assignements, they can be fun to fool around with but they lack the speed and ease of use of an DSLR.
The NX 100 with canon FD 200/2.8 and focussing loupe and the Pentax Q with the C-mount Canon 17-107 f2.0
One of the few of oiver 100 shots that was acceptable (shot with the Q and canon 17-107)
Even the slightest movement deformes the image on the Q
NX 100 with canon FD 50mm 1:1.2 wideopen
cut out at 100% canon FD 200mm @2.8
